A smart pair of Regency tall torcheres, in the Brighton Pavilion manner. Colourfully executed in simulated marble decoration. The square square top with moulded edge simulated in Porto, with acanthus capitals in red Porphyry, with sienna fluted columns and green porphyry mouldings, terminating in Porto plinth.
These rare pieces are wonderful examples of the height of extravagant design and style of the Regency period. Circa 1820. The tops 28cm square.
Generally good condition with all original paint, some wear commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound.
